Kelly
Tammaro, has been a Care Alternative Hospice Volunteer since May 2007 and provides
pet therapy with her two Golden Retrievers "Happy" & "Cooper" through Dog B.O.N.E.S.
(Building Opportunities for Nurturing & Emotional Support) Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts www.therapydog.info, as well as, Reiki and comfort to the residents at Weymouth Health Services, Colonial Nursing Home
in Weymouth and SunRise in Braintree. In
2008 Kelly was awarded a certificate for "Volunteer of the Year" for her commitment to
hospice and she is very touched to receive this honor. In early 2009 Kelly began teaching Care Alternatives hospice employees and volunteers in
Reiki. In June 2009 Kelly was asked by Weymouth High to teach 6 students going into nursing next year Reiki. On
June 4th, Ann Brum and Kelly Tammaro began teaching these students.
Lindsay Coe is the Volunteer Coordinator for Care Alternatives
Hospice and is actively seeking volunteers for massage, pet therapy and Reiki on the South Shore. They especially
need volunteers in Wareham, MA. Before Lindsay was the Volunteer Coordinator she had been a volunteer herself
for Care Alternatives and provided comfort, as well as, Reiki to their residents.
